In this publication a portrait of the European Union and Slovenia's position among total Member States of the EU are presented with updated selected statistical data and indicators. In the past national statistical institutes and Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, have been harmonising the methodology of collecting and disseminating statistical data in order to be able to provide comparable statistics.

Each Member State is described with some interesting data presented in tables or charts. For better understanding short comments point out some main characteristics.
