This publication was first printed in 1951 as Monthly Statistical Review of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia (until 1981). Between 1982 and 1990 it was published as Monthly Statistical Review of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia - Social Development of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia, in 1991 it was published as Monthly Statistical Review of the Republic of Slovenia - Social Development of the Republic of Slovenia and from 1992 to October 2005 (Nr. 5/2005) it was published under the above-mentioned title. It has been bilingual since 1998. The publication above all brought data collected with monthly and quarterly statistical surveys. Archive of past issues is available from March 1999 onwards (Nr. 01/1999).

Monthly Statistical Review of the Republic of Slovenia has been replaced by the publication Some Important Statistics on Slovenia , which was published for the first time on 31 March 2006.
