The annual programme of statistical surveys a legal basis for the implementation of statistical surveys for the current year. On the basis of the National Statistics Act it is determined by the Head of the Statistical Office in consent with the authorized producers. The proposal of the annual programme is discussed by the Statistical Council of the Republic of Slovenia and afterwards published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia.
The annual programme of statistical surveys consists of regular and development tasks and is arranged by chapters, themes and modules where the modules comprise adequate statistical surveys. Due to better comparability, the structure of the annual programmes follows the structure of the EU Commission annual statistical programmes.
The annual programmes are available only in the Slovene language.
The preparation of the priorities of national statistics takes place in parallel with the procedure of preparing the annual programmes. Priorities are stated in a special document, which is discussed by the Statistical Council and represents the basis for the preparation of the annual statistical programme for the current year. Priorities follow the strategic guidelines and activities of the medium-term statistical programme.
