The publication presents 35 maps showing 21 administrative and functional breakdowns of Slovenia. It offers to the users adequate information with the list of codes showing appurtenance of municipalities to individual regions as well as information on the legal basis for individual regional breakdown and the necessary warnings for correct understanding and application of the breakdown.

A reader can find in this publication a short description of the history of changes in territorial breakdown of municipalities and statistical regions in Slovenia as well as information on the breakdown of the territory for statistical purposes in EU Member States. Publication in electronic version, available ob website, includes some information about the changes of municipalities for the period 2000-2002, i.e. after the Catalogue has been published.
