Compared to February 2006, in February 2007 the
number of motor vehicles registered for the first time and the number of
passenger cars registered for the first time increased by 15.2% and 10.0%,
respectively.
Decrease
in the number of passengers in road transport for hire or reward and in air
transport
Compared to February 2006, in February 2007 the
number of passengers carried in road transport for hire or reward and in air
transport fell by 0.7% and 1.3%, respectively. The number of
passenger kilometres made was down in road transport for hire or reward (by
2.6%) and up in air transport (by 1.9%).
In the same comparison the number of passengers
carried in urban transport decreased by 1.0%.
Increase
in the number of road cross-border entries and in airport traffic
The number of road cross-border entries of
passengers (estimate) grew by 15.4% over February 2006, while the traffic of
passengers at airports increased by 6.9%.
Decrease
in maritime transport of goods
Compared to February 2006, in February 2007 the
quantity of goods carried in maritime transport fell by 26.5%. In the same
comparison the number of tonne kilometres made was down by 41.2%. The indices
are lower as some of the ships were inactive (repair works) and also due to
shorter distances travelled.
Considerable
increase in traffic of goods at airports
Compared to February 2006, in February 2007 traffic
of goods in ports fell by 1.3%. In the same comparison traffic of goods at
airports grew by 196.8%. In airport traffic several new
cargo lines were introduced.

number of motor vehicles registered for the first time and the number of
passenger cars registered for the first time increased by 15.2% and 10.0%,
respectively.
