Construction works abroad, Slovenia, 1st half 2006

In comparison with the second half of 2005, the value of construction put in place abroad in the first half of 2006 increased by almost 21%.

Value of construction put in place in the first half of 2006 increased over the second half of 2005 by almost 21%

As in the past few years, most of construction put in place by Slovenian construction companies was done in countries of former Yugoslavia and in the Russian Federation – more than two thirds of the total value. In EU member states less than 15% of construction work was done, of that more than 40% in Germany.

In comparison with the first half of 2005, the value of construction put place decreased by almost 6%; in the segment of buildings the value almost doubled, while in the segment of civil engineering it decreased by more than 50%.

Value of designing and engineering services in the first half of 2006 down by more than 50% over the previous half-year

The value was down compared to the previous half-year (by more than 52%) as well as in comparison with the first half of 2005 (by more than 42%). Most of designing and engineering services were performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Croatia (almost 40%), while in EU member states less than a quarter of the total value was achieved.

Value of the new contracts for construction put in place distinctly up in the first half of 2006 over the previous half-year

Compared to the previous half-year, the value of new contracts for construction put in place in the first half of 2006 increased by more than 250%; most of the new contracts were signed in Croatia, in Macedonia and in the Russian Federation (80%). In the same comparison the value of contracts for designing and engineering was down by almost 43%.
