In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted sentiment indicator remained the same as in the previous month.

Sentiment indicator
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted sentiment indicator remained the same as in the previous month. Compared to July 2005 and the long-term average it went up by 13 and 12 percentage points, respectively.

Confidence indicator in manufacturing
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted confidence indicator in manufacturing remained the same as in the previous month. Compared to July 2005 the indicator rose by 15 percentage points and was 14 percentage points above the long-term average.

Retail trade confidence indicator
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence indicator rose by 7 percentage points over the previous month. Compared to July 2005 and last year's average it was up by 12 percentage points. The indicator was also 16 percentage points above the long-term average.

Confidence indicator in construction
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted confidence indicator in construction rose by 4 percentage points compared to the previous month. Compared to July 2005 it was up by 17 percentage points and it was 12 percentage points above last year’s average.

Services confidence indicator
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted services confidence indicator was 1 percentage point lower than in the previous month. Compared to July 2005 it increased by 5 percentage points and was 3 percentage points above last year’s average. The indicator was also 1 percentage point below the long-term average.

Consumer confidence indicator
In July 2006 the seasonally adjusted value of the consumer confidence indicator decreased by 1 percentage point compared to the previous month. The decrease of the indicator was mainly due to less optimistic estimations of consumers on financial situation in their households in the next 12 months. Despite the fall, the consumer confidence indicator is now 8 percentage points above the long-term average.

Note: The sentiment indicator is the weighted average of the confidence indicator in manufacturing, retail trade and the consumer confidence indicator.
