Prices of Energy Sources, Slovenia, second half of 2009

In the second half of 2009 electricity prices in Slovenia remained unchanged. At the same time the prices of natural gas strongly decreased.

Average electricity price for households in Slovenia in the second half of the year 2009 remained practically unchanged to the price in the first half of the year.

Average electricity price for households in Slovenia in the second half of the year 2009 was 13 EUR/100 kWh which is 1% less in comparison with the first half of the year.

Also the average electricity price without value added tax for industry in Slovenia remained unchanged in the same period. The price was 10 EUR/100 kWh in the second half of 2009.

The average natural gas price for households in the second half of 2009 in Slovenia decreased for 17% compared to the first half of the year.

The average natural gas price for households in the second half of the 2009 was 16 EUR/GJ which means 17% decrease compared to first half of the year.

The average natural gas price without value added tax for industry in Slovenia in the same period decreased for 25% and was 8 EUR/GJ in the second half of 2009.

In the first half of 2009 electricity prices for industry in Slovenia exceeded the level of EU-27 average price for the first time. Natural gas prices in Slovenia remained above the EU-27 level.

The international comparison is due to the accessibility of price data of other EU members at this moment possible for first half of 2009. At that time the Slovene electricity prices for industry exceeded the EU-27 average for the first time, namely for 6%. The electricity prices for households drew near to EU-27 level. They represented 82% of EU-27 average.

In the first half of 2009 prices of natural gas exceeded the EU-27 average prices. The household prices for 13% the industry prices for 21%.
