Where in Slovenia is the percentage of young people the highest? Where are the average monthly earnings higher than Slovenian average? Answers to these questions can be found in the Interactive Statistical Atlas of Slovenia.

Interactive cartographic presentation of statistical data

By publishing the Interactive Statistical Atlas of Slovenia, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia adds a new service for users on its website and invites them to explore differences between regions and municipalities with the help of statistical data.

In the tool a user can select indicators, territorial levels (statistical regions or municipalities) and map presentations for available years. When moving the mouse over the map, data are displayed, same as when moving the mouse over the chart on the right-hand side. When selecting a region, the chart shows only municipalities of the selected region and it also provides an option to sort regions or municipalities by alphabet or by rank.

Where in Slovenia is the percentage of young people the highest?

The Interactive Statistical Atlas of Slovenia answers this and similar questions. For several years the municipality of Gorenja vas – Poljane has had the highest share of young population (under 15 years) in Slovenia. In 2007 the share was 20.6%, which is 11.6 percentage points higher compared to the lowest share in the municipality of Osilnica.

Which region in Slovenia has the highest earnings?

Map presentation of the average monthly gross earnings by statistical regions shows the highest earnings in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region, where the annual average of monthly gross earnings is 13 percent higher than the annual average at the level of Slovenia. The difference between this region and the Pomurska region with the lowest data is 30.5 percentage points.

Supporting regional policy

Showing statistical data on maps is very important for users who work in the field of regional development. At the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia we have also published several printed publications to present data at lower territorial levels. Our aim is to support regional policy making by presenting statistical data in a clear and concise way. Besides using the Interactive Statistical Atlas of Slovenia, we invite our users to check the Thematic Cartography and the publication Slovene Municipalities in Figures.
