In the first ten months of 2008 total consumption of electricity decreased by 4% over the same period one year ago. This was the result of smaller consumption of direct consumers.
Decrease of total net electricity generation in October 2008
Compared to September 2008, in October 2008 total net electricity generation increased by 2%, but consumption increased by 4%. Hydro power plants generation stayed on the same level. Generation in the thermal power plants increased by 2% but generation in the Nuclear power plant increased by 4%.
In line with production in thermal power units, fuel consumption also increased for 4%, as usually especially consumption of coal (4%). Increase of gross electricity generation in December 2008
In December 2008 the total gross production of electricity was 1420 GWh.
In December 2008, 532 GWh of electricity was imported and 766 GWh was exported. High increase in supply with Heavy Fuel Oil in October 2008 In October 2008 we noticed supply increases, some even high as 71% with Heavy Fuel Oil, 15% with Natural Gas, 11% with Other Petroleum Products and 10% with Lignite and Brown Coal. On the other side supply of the rest monitored fuels in generally went down as 23% with Kerosene Jet Fuel, 8% with Motor Gasoline and 7% with LPG.
