Print version

In the SI-STAT data portal we are publishing income and poverty indicators for the period of three years, calculated on the basis of data from the statistical survey SILC.

Income and poverty indicators from the Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) for the 2005-2007 period, which were published in First Releases of 9 February 2007, 17 December 2007 and 28 November 2008, are published for the first time in the SI-STAT data portal. Already published data were supplemented by more detailed breakdowns, and we are also publishing two new indicators calculated on the basis of data from the SILC survey, namely the “aggregate replacement ratio” and the “relative median income ratio”.

Methodological note

The source for calculating income and poverty indicators are data from the Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) for the individual year, which was conducted on the basis of data collected with the Survey on Income and Living Conditions in that year (survey year) and the use of administrative and register data for the year prior to the implementation of the survey (income reference year).

In 2008 we changed the way of publishing indicators based on SILC thus harmonising it with Eurostat. Before 2008 the data were published for the income reference year, while from 2008 on the whole time series will be published for the survey year. The data that were published before 2008 and referred to 2004 are now published in the SI-STAT database for 2005, while the data that were published before 2008 and referred to 2005 are now published in the SI-STAT database for 2006.
Data access
More detailed data and time series are available at the SI-STAT data portal, which enables simple browsing and exporting of data into various formats. Registered users have the possibility to store tables for later browsing and to sign up to be informed when data are updated
