Performance of enterprises by activity and size classes by number of persons employed, Slovenia, 2007 - provisional data

Less than 1% of large enterprises
According to provisional structural business statistics (SBS) data for 2007, in the observed activities (from Mining and quarrying – C to Real estate, renting and business activities – K without Financial services – J) only 270 enterprises among 101,031 were large (they had 250 or more persons employed). The highest share of large enterprises (3.1%) was registered in the activity of Electricity, gas and water supply – E and the lowest (0.07%) in activity K.

Small and medium-sized enterprises created more than half of turnover
According to provisional SBS data for 2007, large enterprises created more thane 50% of turnover in industry (activities C, Manufacturing – D and E). In other activities small and medium-sized enterprises (with fewer than 250 persons employed) created more then half of turnover. In activity K small and medium sized enterprises created a little more than EUR 7 billion (7,003,866 thousand), which amounted to 95% of the total turnover in this activity.
