According to provisional data, in 2007 average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment by legal persons in Slovenia amounted to EUR 1,867
Increase in annual labour costs by 5.6% According to labour cost estimates prepared from existing sources, in 2007 average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment by legal persons in Slovenia amounted to EUR 1,867 and have compared to 2006 increased by 5.6%. Average monthly labour costs per hour worked amounted to EUR 12.74. The highest share in the labour costs was that of employee’s incomes, 82.6%. The share of taxes on payroll decreased from 3.3% in 2006 to 2.7% in 2007, caused by lower tax rates in 2007.
The highest labour costs in financial intermediation, the lowest in hotels and restaurants Average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment for 2007 were the highest in financial intermediation (EUR 2,987) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (EUR 1,405). Compared to 2006 labour costs in these two activities increased by 6.8% and 6.2% respectively.
In 2006 the highest labour costs in the EU were in Luxembourg and the lowest in Bulgaria According to the latest data for 2006 (source: Eurostat), the highest average monthly labour costs in industry and services (NACE activities C to K) were in Luxembourg (EUR 4,625) and in Sweden (EUR 4,518), while the data for Greece, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands and United Kingdom are not known. In 2006 the lowest average monthly labour costs were in Bulgaria (EUR 243) and in Romania (EUR 414). In 2006 Slovenia’s average monthly labour costs were EUR 1,673, which ranked our country between Portugal (EUR 1,618) and Cyprus (EUR 2,091).
