Annual data on the production and sale of industrial products and services, Slovenia, 2007 – final data

 
Sale of industrial products and services higher by more than 11%

In 2007, industrial enterprises in Slovenia produced and sold about EUR 20.6 billion worth of industrial products and services. Compared to 2006, sale was up more than 11%. Almost 66% of industrial products and services were sold on foreign markets.

The most successful manufacturing activity was manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products

In the field of manufacturing, manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products represented the highest share of total sold products and services, more than 19%, followed by manufacture of machinery and equipment with 12%. The lowest share of total sale was recorded in manufacture of leather and leather products, almost 1%.

Compared to 2006, in 2007 the subsection with the highest share of total sold products and services was manufacture nec, with more than 33%. In this comparison, the subsection with the lowest share of total sold products and services was manufacture of leather and leather products, where the production decreased by about 70%.

The growth of sold products and services in the subsection manufacture nec and the big decrease in the subsection leather and leather products were to a large extent the result of the change in the classification of the product according to the Nomenclature of Industrial Products. The product that was in the previous years classified in the subsection leather and leather products is from 2007 onwards classified in the subsection manufacture nec.

If we ignore the reclassification of the product, the highest share of the total sold products would be recorded in the subsection manufacture of transport equipment with more than 22%. The subsection with the lowest share of total sold products and services would be manufacture of leather and leather products, where the production would decrease by about 18%.

Among all subsections of manufacturing the most export-oriented activity was manufacture of transport equipment, while on the domestic market the highest share was that of enterprises producing food and beverages

The subsection with the highest share of turnover on foreign markets was manufacture of transport equipment, which sold almost 84% of its products outside Slovenia. The other most export-oriented activities were manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres, about 83%, followed by manufacture of machinery ad equipment, about 81%.

The subsection with the highest share of turnover created on the domestic market was manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco. In 2007, almost 80% of its turnover was created in Slovenia.
