The use of mineral fertilisers in agriculture in 2007 at the same level as in 2005 and 2006
In 2007 the use of mineral fertilisers only slightly higher than in 2006 It is estimated that in 2007 the agricultural producers had available or used 149,587 tons of mineral fertilisers. These fertilisers contained 57,622 tons of macro plant nutrients. Compared to 2006, the quantity of used mineral fertilisers increased by 2%, while the quantity of used macro plant nutrients was 2% lower than in the previous year. Slightly lower plant nutrient consumption in kg per hectare of utilised agricultural area In 2007 the average use of macro plant nutrients per hectare of utilised agricultural area was 115.6 kg or 3% less than in 2006. The use of all plant nutrients decreased, mostly the use of nitrogen (N) plant nutrient (by 4%). 2007 was the third successive year in which the use of macro plant nutrients from mineral fertilisers was estimated below 120 kg/ha.
