Annual data on the production and sale of industrial products and services, Slovenia, 2007 – provisional data

Sale of industrial products and services higher by 11%

In 2007, industrial enterprises in Slovenia produced and sold about EUR 20.5 billion worth of industrial products and services. Compared to 2006, sale was up by 11%. Almost 66% of industrial products and services were sold on foreign markets.

The most successful manufacturing activity was manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products

In the field of manufacturing, manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products represented the highest share of total sold products and services, more than 19%, followed by manufacture of machinery and equipment with 12%. The lowest share of total sale was recorded in manufacture of leather and leather products, more than 1%.

Compared to 2006, in 2007 the subsection with the highest share of total sold products and services was manufacture of transport equipment, almost 24%. In this comparison, the subsection with the lowest share of total sold products and services was manufacture of leather and leather products, where the production decreased by almost 19%.

Among all subsections of manufacturing activity the most export-oriented activity were manufacture of transport equipment and leather and leather products, while on the domestic market the highest share was that of enterprises producing food and beverages

The subsections with the highest share of turnover on foreign markets were manufacture of transport equipment and manufacture of leather and leather products, which sold almost 85% of their products outside Slovenia. The next most export-oriented activities were manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres, about 84%, followed by manufacture of machinery and equipment, almost 81%.

The subsection with the highest share of turnover created on the domestic market was manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco. In 2007, almost 80% of its turnover was created in Slovenia.
