Natural and migration changes of population, Slovenia, 2nd quarter 2007 – provisional data

Total increase was despite the natural increase above all the result of the positive net migration of foreigners.

Natural increase
According to provisional data, 313 persons more were born than died in the spring months, from March to June 2007. Natural increase in the second quarter is significant after 2004 again although it has never been so high (0.6 persons per 1,000 population) as in this year.
Compared to the first three months of 2007, the number of live births increased by 175 and the number of deaths decreased by 489.

Net migration 10.9 per 1,000 population
In the second quarter of 2007, 8,272 persons immigrated to Slovenia and 2,776 persons emigrated from Slovenia. So the net migration in the second quarter of 2007 was 5,496 i.e. 10.9 per 1,000 population.

Total increase almost twice as high as a quarter before
Total increase was despite the natural increase above all the result of the positive net migration of foreigners. In the second quarter of 2007 the population increased by 5,809 persons.
