Value of construction put in place, Slovenia, 2006

In 2006, construction enterprises in Slovenia performed almost SIT 583 billion worth of construction work, which was 22% more than a year before.

As regards buildings, the value of construction put in place up by 18%

Compared to 2005, the value of construction put in place in the segment of buildings was up by more than 18% - mostly due to higher value of construction put in place in non-residential buildings (by more than 19%). Among non-residential buildings, compared to a year before the value of construction put in place increased the most in museums and libraries (by 206%), followed by garage buildings (by 86%) and historic or protected monuments (almost 80% rise).

The value of construction put in place in residential buildings grew by almost 17% over the previous year. Among residential buildings the highest increase in the value of construction put in place in 2006 over 2005 was in two-dwelling buildings (by 49%).

As regards civil engineering works, the value of construction put in place up by 28%

Compared to 2005, the value of construction put in place in the segment of civil engineering was up by 28%. In 2006, civil engineering represented 45% of total construction put in place, and was 2% higher than in 2005. At the same time the share of construction put in place in the segment of buildings went down by the same percent.
