Mr Lojze Peterle (who won 28.73% of votes) and Dr Danilo Türk (who won 24.47% of votes) moved into the runoff, which will be held on 11 November 2007. The turnout in the first round was 57.67%.

In the first round of presidential elections Mr Lojze Peterle won the highest share of votes, 28.73%. In the second round he will face Dr Danilo Türk, who managed to win 24.47% of votes cast. Third-placed Mr Mitja Gaspari won only 0.38 of a percentage point less votes than the second-placed candidate. Fourth place was won by Ms Zmago Jelinčič Plemeniti with 19.16%, followed by Mag. Darko Krajnc with 2.18%. The last two places were occupied by Ms Elena Pečarič (0.90%) and Ms Monika Piberl (0.48%).

Turnout the highest in electoral unit Ljubljana Center, the lowest in electoral unit Maribor 

In the first round of this year’s presidential elections votes were cast by 57.67% of the electorate. The highest turnout was registered in Ljubljana Center (62.95%) and the lowest in Maribor (only 54.52% of the electorate in this electoral unit).
