According to provisional data, in 2006 average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment by legal persons in Slovenia amounted to SIT 423,781 (EUR 1,768.41).
The highest share in the labour costs is that of employee’s incomes According to labour cost estimates prepared from existing sources, in 2006 average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment by legal persons in Slovenia amounted to SIT 423,781 (EUR 1,768.41), while average monthly labour costs per hour worked amounted to SIT 2,908 (EUR 12.13). The highest share in the labour costs was that of employee’s incomes, 82.3%, and the lowest was that of other labour costs (recruitment costs and clothing), 0.4%. The highest labour costs in financial intermediation, the lowest in hotels and restaurants Average monthly labour costs per person in paid employment for 2006 were the highest in financial intermediation (SIT 670,426 or EUR 2,797.64) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (SIT 317,111 or EUR 1,323.28). In 2005 the highest labour costs in the EU were recorded in Luxembourg and the lowest in Latvia According to the latest data for 2005 (source: Eurostat), the highest average monthly labour costs in industry and services (NACE activities C to K) were recorded in Luxembourg (EUR 4,498) and in Denmark (EUR 4,360), while the data for Sweden, Greece, Italy and Austria are not known. In 2005 the lowest average monthly labour costs were observed in Latvia (EUR 433) and in Lithuania (EUR 556). In 2005 Slovenia’s average monthly labour costs were EUR 1,605, which ranked our country between Portugal (EUR 1,557) and Cyprus (EUR 2,028). In 2005 more then four times higher labour costs in the EU-15 than in new member states In 2005 average monthly labour costs in industry and services (NACE activities C to K) in new member states amounted to EUR 865, while in the EU-15 they amounted to EUR 3,649 (source: Eurostat).
