According to provisional data for the period from January to February 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 Slovenian exports increased by 2.9% while imports increased by 4.5%; the export/import ratio was 91.9%.
Increase in exports and imports compared to February 2011
In February 2012 Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 1,642.4 million and imported goods worth EUR 1,751.6 million, which means that exports represented 93.8% of imports. In February 2012 exports, given in EUR, was 3.0% higher than in February 2011, while imports exceeded the February 2011 value of imports by 0.7%. Slovenia’s exports to EU Member States in February 2012 worth over EUR 1 billion The value of trade with EU Member States amounted to EUR 1,197.1 million for dispatches (72.9% of total exports) and EUR 1,347.4 million for arrivals (76.9% of total imports). As regards trade with EU non-member countries, Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 445.2 million and imported goods worth EUR 404.2 million. Increase in exports and imports in the first two months of 2012 over the same period of 2011 According to provisional data for the first two months of 2012 Slovenia's exports amounted to EUR 3,211.2 million (an increase by 2.9% compared to the same period of 2011), while imports amounted to EUR 3,496.1 million (an increase by 4.5% compared to the same period of 2011). The external trade deficit amounted to EUR 284.9 million and the export/import ratio was 91.9%. Table 1: Exports and imports of goods, February 2012
