Average monthly earnings by registered natural persons, Slovenia, 4th quarter 2011 - final data

For the fourth quarter of 2011 employees of registered natural persons received on average slightly more than EUR 900 monthly gross earnings, which is 1.3% more than for the third quarter of 2011.
In the fourth quarter of 2011 average monthly gross earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons were 2.3% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2010
In the fourth quarter of 2011 average monthly gross earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons amounted to EUR 901.11 and were thus 2.3% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2010 and 1.3% higher than in the third quarter 2011.
Average monthly net earnings for the fourth quarter 2011 amounted to EUR 631.21 and were thus 0.9% higher than for the third quarter of 2011 and 2.1% higher than for the fourth quarter of 2010.
As regards activities, average monthly earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons were the lowest in arts, entertainment and recreation
In the fourth quarter of 2011, too, average monthly gross earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons were the highest in human health and social work activities (EUR 1,279.97) and the lowest in arts, entertainment and recreation (EUR 606.90).
Compared to the third quarter 2011, average monthly gross earnings for the fourth quarter of 2011 increased the most in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (3.1%) and agriculture, forestry and fishing (2.6%) and decreased the most in education (3.2%) and mining and quarrying (2.1%).

Of the three months of the last quarter of 2011 the highest average monthly gross earnings were paid for November 2011 (EUR 914.40). Compared to October 2011 (EUR 888.93) they were 2.9% higher and compared to December 2011 (EUR 899.85) 1.6% higher.
Average monthly net earnings of persons employed by registered natural persons for October 2011 amounted to EUR 625.04, for November 2011 to EUR 638.30 and for December 2011 to EUR 630.21.

Methodological note The data for the entire series are final and do not differ from the data that have been published as provisional.
Observation units are registered natural persons, which are registered for performing activity in the Republic of Slovenia. Data are collected with the questionnaire »assessing withholding tax from incomes from employment« (REK-1), which registered natural persons have to fill in every month on the basis of the Tax Procedure Act (OJ RS, No. 117/06). Data are collected by the Tax Administration of the Republic of Slovenia and sent to SORS, which performs statistical processing.
