In December 2011 the registered unemployment rate in Slovenia went up by 0.2 of a percentage point, reaching 12.1%. The number of persons in employment decreased by more than 6,000.

Registered unemployment rate at the monthly level higher

Compared to November 2011 the registered unemployment rate in December 2011 went up by 0.2 of a percentage point, reaching 12.1% at the end of the month. The reason for this was the decrease in the number of persons in employment by more than 6,000 and at the same time the increase in the number of registered unemployed persons by almost 1,700; the number of registered unemployed women decreased by 175, while the number of registered unemployed men increased by 1,860.

The number of persons in employment lower mostly in construction

The number of persons in employment decreased in December 2011 by more than 6,000, again mostly due to the decrease in the number of men in paid employment by about 4,800. The number of persons in employment decreased the most in construction (by about 2,900) and in manufacturing (by about 1,500).
