At the annual level, in November 2011 7% more tourist arrivals and overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodations. In the first eleven months of 2011 the number of tourist arrivals increased by 7% and the number of overnight stays by 6% over the same period of the previous year.

In November 2011, a higher increase in the number of domestic overnight stays than of foreign overnight stays

In November 2011, almost 165,000 tourist arrivals and almost 449,000 overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodations. Compared to November 2010 the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays increased by 7%. The increase in the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was 4 percentage points higher than the increase in the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists.

In Slovenia, in November 2011, the most overnight stays spent by tourists from Austria, Italy and Germany

A half of foreign tourists arrived in November 2011 to Slovenia from Italy (23% of all foreign arrivals), from Austria (19%) and from Croatia (8%). Tourist arrivals from Serbia, Germany and Japan follow.
Foreign tourists created in Slovenia 48% of all overnight stays. In November 2011, the highest share of foreign overnight stays was made by Austrian tourists (24%), Italian tourists (20%), German tourists (8%), Croatian tourists (7%), Serbian tourists (6%) and Russian tourists (5%).
Compared to November 2010, in November 2011 the number of overnight stays of tourists from the Russian Federation increased by 21%, from Germany by 15%, from Austria and Croatia by 9% each, etc. In November 2011 there were 1% less overnight stays of Italian tourists than in November 2010.

Almost every second tourist spent the night in November 2011 in health (spa) resorts

In November 2011, the number of tourist arrivals was the highest in health (spa) resorts (36%); the same is true for overnight stays (47%). In comparison with November 2010 the number of tourist arrivals in health (spa) resorts increased by 15% and the number of their overnight stays by 12%.
Second placed by the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays were seaside resorts, where 17% of all tourist overnight stays were recorded or 7% more than in November 2010. In the same comparison mountain resorts (11% of all tourist overnight stays) recorded a 15% increase in overnight stays. The municipality Ljubljana with a 9% share of all tourist overnight stays recorded an 2% increase.

In November 2011, domestic tourists prevailed in health (spa) resorts and in seaside resorts

In November 2011, the highest share of foreign overnight stays was recorded in Ljubljana, 94%. The share of foreign overnight stays in mountain resorts was 55%.
In municipality Ljubljana and in mountain resorts most arrivals and overnight stays were made by tourists from Italy.
In health (spa) resorts in November 2011 the share of domestic overnight stays (66%) was higher than the share of foreign ones; the same is true for seaside resorts, where the share of domestic overnight stays was 58%.

The highest annual increase in the number of overnight stays in tourist farms with accommodation

In November 2011, over 78,000 bedplaces were available to tourists in tourist accommodations. 48% of all tourist bedplaces were available to tourists in hotels. Permanent bedplaces in hotels were on average 34% occupied, while all bedplaces in hotels by 3 percentage points less.
In November 2011, most overnight stays (over 344,000 or 77%) were registered in hotels, followed by holiday dwellings and camping sites (6% of all overnight stays each).
Compared to November 2010, in November 2011 the number of overnight stays increased in hotels by 8%, in holiday dwellings by 12%, in camping sites by 6% and in tourist farms with accommodation by as much as 59%.

In November 2011, Austrian tourists, who made the most overnight stays in Slovenia, stayed on average 4 days

On average, tourists stayed in Slovenia 2.7 nights: domestic tourists stayed 3.1 nights and foreign tourists 2.4 nights. Tourists from the Russian federation stayed on average in Slovenia 6.3 nights, the Austrians 3.0 nights, the Germans 2.6 nights, the Croats 2.3 nights, the Italians 2.2 nights and the Serbians 2.1 nights.
On average, tourists stayed the longest in health (spa) resorts (3.6 nights). In seaside resorts the average number of overnight stays was 3.1 nights, in mountain resorts 2.0 nights and in Ljubljana 1.9 nights.
Tourists stayed on average in hotels 2.7 nights, in private accommodations - rented rooms, dwellings 2.9 nights, in holiday dwellings 3.4 nights and in camping sites 3.8 nights.

In November 2011, 30% of all overnight stays in the municipalities Piran, Ljubljana and Moravske Toplice

Domestic tourists made 32% of their overnight stays in municipalities Piran, Brežice and Moravske Toplice.
Foreign tourists made 31% of their overnight stays in municipalities Ljubljana and Piran.

In the first eleven months of 2011 the number of foreign tourist arrivals and overnight stays up by 9% over the same period of 2010

In the first eleven months of 2011 almost 3 million tourist arrivals and almost 8.8 million overnight stays were recorded in Slovenia. From January to November 2011, 7% more tourist arrivals were registered compared to the same period of the previous year. In the same comparison the number of overnight stays increased as well, by 6%. The number of arrivals and overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by 9% over the same period of the previous year.
