Transport of goods by road, Slovenia, 3rd quarter 2011 - final data

Slovenian road goods vehicles carried less goods and performed more tonne-kilometres than in 3^rd quarter 2010
In the 3^rd quarter of 2011 road goods motor vehicles registered in Slovenia carried 21 million tonnes of goods, performed 3.9 billions tonne-kilometres and 260 million kilometres travelled by loaded vehicles. In comparison with the 3^rd quarter of 2010, this is 1% less carried goods and almost 4% more tonne-kilometres performed.

In national transport less and in international transport more carried goods
Compared to the 3^rd quarter of 2010, in national transport 2% less goods were carried, 6% less tonne-kilometres were performed and 4% kilometres were travelled by loaded vehicles. In international transport almost 4% more goods were carried, 5% more tonne-kilometres were performed and 1% more kilometres were travelled by loaded vehicles.

Legal persons carried more goods and natural persons less than in the same period of the previous year

In the 3^rd quarter of 2011 legal persons carried 15 million tons of goods (71% of the total) and performed 2.6 billion tonne-kilometres (68% of the total). In the 3^rdquarter of 2011 natural persons carried 6.1 million tons of goods (29% of the total) and performed 1.2 billion tonne-kilometres (33% of the total). In comparison with the same period of the previous year, natural persons carried less goods (16%) and performed less tonne-kilometres (12%). In the same comparison legal persons carried more goods (7%) and performed more tonne-kilometres (13%).

More tonne-kilometres in transport for hire or reward than in 3^rd quarter 2010
In transport for hire or reward 60% of all goods were carried and 89% of all tonne-kilometres were performed. This is transport for commercial purpose, where the conditions of transport are defined by a contract between the hauler and the consumer of transport services. In transport on own account 40% of all goods were carried and 11% of all tonne-kilometres were performed. In comparison with the same period of the previous year, goods carried by transport for hire or reward decreased by 7% and in transport on own account by 9%. The same comparison indicates that tonne-kilometres performed in transport for hire or reward stayed nearly the same as in the 3^rd quarter 2010 and in transport on own account increased by 52%.
