NAMEA - Air Emissions, Slovenia, 2009 - final data
Tuesday, December 20, 2011, First Release
In 2009 carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions decreased by 10.2% and nitrodioxides (NOx) emissions by 13.1% compared to 2008.
Lower carbon dioxide emissions
In the 2008-2009 period the highest CO2 emissions were released in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, manufacturing, and transportation and storage. In 2009 in Slovenia during combustion of fuels the highest CO2 emissions were released in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, 34.6% of total CO2 emissions. In manufacturing 13.2% of total CO2 emissions were contributed. In transportation and storage 20.4% of total CO2 emissions were released, mostly in land transport. The most CO2 emissions in land transport were contributed by road transport. In 2009 the values of CO2 emissions in manufacturing were lower by 22.8% also in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 4.6% and in land transport by 11.5% in comparision with 2008.
Lower nitrogen oxides emissions
In the 2008-2009 period the highest values of NOx emissions were released in transportation and storage, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and manufacturing (glass production). In 2009 the highest NOx emissions were released in land transport, almost a half (49.4%) of total NOx emissions (especially road transport), 18.5% of total NOx emissions were contributed by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and 5.1% by manufacturing. In 2009 the values of NOx emissions in manufacturing were lower by 16.2% also in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 10.1% and in land transport by 12.6% than in 2008. Methodological note Emissions from households are included in total emissions. Data on air emissions are divided between economic activities on the basis of the Standard Classification of Economic Activities (NACE). They used to be divided on the basis of the old classification (NACE Rev. 1.1), while from 2011 onwards they are divided on the basis of the new classification (NACE Rev. 2). Data divided on the basis of the new NACE Rev. 2 are available for 2008 and 2009. Older data divided on the basis of the old NACE Rev. 1.1 will not be updated and are not comparable in full with data divided on the basis of the new NACE Rev. 2.
Data access More detailed data and time series are available
at the SI-STAT data portal, which enables simple browsing and exporting of data
into various formats. Registered users have the possibility to store tables for
later browsing and to sign up to be informed when data are updated.
