Upper secondary school boarding homes, student residence halls and other institutions offering accommodation to students, Slovenia, school year 2010/11 - final data
In the school year 2010/11 boarding homes offered accommodation to 6,2 % of students attending upper secondary schools and 15,8% of full-time students attending higher education institutions.
In the school year 2010/11, 17,594 persons were living in upper secondary school boarding homes, in student residence halls and at private legal entities registered for offering residence to students. In the school year 2010/11, 4,432 upper secondary school pupils, 1,115 students and 28 elementary school pupils were living in upper secondary school boarding homes, while student residence halls (public and private) and private legal entities offering accommodation to students housed 12,019 persons.
One sixth of all full-time students live in student residence halls and other boarding homes. In the school year 2010/11 the share of all full-time students[1], including candidates for graduation, living in student residence halls or in other establishments was 15,8 %.
In upper secondary school boarding homes, student residence halls and private legal entities registered for offering residence to students 889 persons were employed. The number of people employed in student residence halls (public and private) and at private legal entities registered for offering residence to students is 261. The number of people employed in upper secondary school boarding homes has decreased to 628, of whom 203 are educators.
Boarding homes, student residence halls and private legal entities registered for offering residence were offering 209,369 m2 of (floor) area of rooms to students. In the school year 2010/11 they had 9,871 bedrooms and 2,400 other facilities (classrooms, dining room, gyms, living rooms) to offer. On average 8.2 m2 of the sleeping area was at one student's disposal.
