Methodological note
With data for the first quarter of 2010 we are publishing for the first time construction costs indices for residential buildings calculated according to a new way. These indices serve as an overview of the costs construction companies have in constructing new residential buildings. We changed the data source from the Chamber of Construction and Building Materials Industry of Slovenia to existing sources of statistical data collected by SORS for publishing other indicators, i.e. labour costs indices (source: labour statistics) and construction material costs indices (source: price statistics, output price indices of the domestic market). The weighted indices of labour costs and construction material costs together form the construction costs index for new residential buildings. Data series back to 2000 were calculated in the same way and published in electronic form on our SI-STAT data portal, while detailed methodology for calculating construction costs indices for residential buildings is available on this link Construction costs indices for residential buildings.
