Estimated damage caused by natural disasters, 2004

In 2004 most of the damage was caused by hail (38.7%), fire (24.5%), flood (15.2%) and earthquake (13.0%). The greatest estimated damage was caused on buildings and lands, and among private property the greatest damage was caused on buildings and working means. By branches of activities, the greatest damage was caused in agriculture, hunting and forestry and in private households.  

Among statistical regions, the greatest damage because of natural disasters was caused in Goriška, Savinjska and Podravska regions. Hail caused the greatest damage in Podravska region, fire caused the greatest damage in Gorenjska region, flood caused the greatest damage in Savinjska region and earthquake only caused damage in Goriška region.

The damage caused by natural disasters was estimated in 177 municipalities out of 193; 16 municipalities did not report any damage.
