Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, offers from 1 October 2004 on to all users of Eurostat website free of charge online access to all European statistical data, databases and publications.

At the same time the communication with users and user support have been transferred to the national statistical institutes. Although the Eurostat website is in English, German and French only, the user support is maintained in national languages of users.

The Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia has been a part of the European Statistical Data Support (ESDS) system since the beginning of the project and is one of 27 authorized national centers which provide free of charge user support for European statistical data published on Eurostat website. The ESDS service aims to provide advice on data availability and accessibility and to help users who might face technical problems using tools for extracting data on the website.
