Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2016 the total estimated consumption of mineral fertilisers in Slovene agriculture was 5% lower than in the previous year; the estimated consumption of main plant nutrients was also reduced (by 3.4%).

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, services producer prices were on average 0.3% higher than in the 1st quarter of 2017. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, prices of services were higher, i.e. by 1.4% on average.

In July 2017, 532 building permits issued in Slovenia
In July 2017, 237 building permits were issued for residential and 295 for non-residential buildings. In these buildings 278 dwellings were planned. The biggest housing construction is planned in the Podravska statistical region.

The value of agricultural products purchased in June 2017 10% higher than in June 2016
The total value of agricultural products purchased in June 2017 amounted to EUR 41.1 million; it was 2% lower than in May 2017 and 10% higher than in June 2016.

About 850,300 persons in employment in June 2017 – an increase on the monthly and annual level
In June 2017 the number of persons in employment increased by 0.4% (to around 850,300) over May 2017, while the number of persons in employment increased by 3.7% over June 2016. In the first six months of 2017 there were 3.3% more persons in employment over the same period of the previous year.

Average gross earnings for June 2017 0.7% lower than average gross earnings for May 2017
Average gross earnings for June 2017 amounted to EUR 1,602.21. Compared to gross earnings for May 2017, they were lower in both nominal and real terms, by 0.7%. Compared to the same period of 2016, average monthly gross earnings for the January–June 2017 period were higher in nominal terms, by 1.9%.

In June 2017 over 10,000 passenger cars registered for the first time in Slovenia
In June 2017, 10,214 passenger cars were registered for the first time in Slovenia, which is 15% more than a year ago. In airport traffic 15% more passengers were recorded than a year ago, in port traffic 7% more than in June 2016.

In June 2017 the agricultural input prices decreased at the monthly level on average by 0.4%. In comparison with the first quarter of 2017, in the second quarter of 2017 the agricultural input prices were lower on average by 0.3%.

In June 2017 the prices of agricultural products were on average 9.2% higher than in June 2016. The prices of animals and animal products increased on average by 9.9% and of crop products by 7.8%.
