Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2016, 19,689 people died or 0.7% fewer than in 2015. The mean age for men was 73.0 years and for women 81.4 years. A boy born in Slovenia in 2016 can expect to live 77.96 years and a girl 83.86 years.

In April 2017 tourists generated over 810,000 overnight stays, 27% more than a year ago
n April 2017, 27% more tourist overnight stays were recorded in tourist accommodations than in April 2016. Foreign tourists generated 44% more arrivals and 47% more overnight stays and domestic tourist about the same number of arrivals and 2% fewer overnight stays.

Dwelling prices in the 1st quarter of 2017 on average 1.3% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2016
In the 1st quarter of 2017 dwelling prices were on average 1.3% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2016. The number of transactions of existing dwellings remained high. Dwelling prices in the 1st quarter of 2017 were 6.9% higher than the 2015 average.

In the 1st quarter of 2017 a quarter of Slovenian residents went on at least one private trip
In the 1st quarter of 2017, a quarter of Slovenian residents aged 15 or more went on at least one private trip. During this period they made around three quarters of a million private trips, half of them abroad. Most residents did not go on any private trip due to lack of time.
