Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

Dwelling prices in the 1st quarter of 2017 on average 1.3% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2016
In the 1st quarter of 2017 dwelling prices were on average 1.3% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2016. The number of transactions of existing dwellings remained high. Dwelling prices in the 1st quarter of 2017 were 6.9% higher than the 2015 average.

In the 1st quarter of 2017 a quarter of Slovenian residents went on at least one private trip
In the 1st quarter of 2017, a quarter of Slovenian residents aged 15 or more went on at least one private trip. During this period they made around three quarters of a million private trips, half of them abroad. Most residents did not go on any private trip due to lack of time.

With circular cable-cars 51% more passenger rides made than in the 1st quarter of 2016
In the 1st quarter of 2017, 13% more passenger rides with cableways were recorded than in the same period in 2016. Most passenger rides were made with circular cable-cars. The total number of operating days was 6,753.

Number of enterprise births slightly increased in 2015
In 2015, 18,541 enterprise births were recorded or 0.9% more than in the previous year. Their number went up the most in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 188).

Consumers in Slovenia never more optimistic than in June 2017
In June 2017 the consumer confidence indicator improved by 3 percentage points at the monthly level and by 13 p.p. at the annual level. It was 11 p.p. above last year’s average. Consumers have never been more optimistic; the consumer confidence indicator had the same value in January 2017.
