Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2016, 52% more dried pulses, 59% more industrial plants, 40% less fruit and 19% less grapes than in 2015
Compared to 2015, in 2016 slightly more cereals for grain (by 2.3%), over a half more pulses (by 52%) and industrial plants (by 59%), and about the same amount of green fodder were produced in Slovenia. In orchards 40.6% less fruit and in vineyards a fifth less grapes were produced.

According to the results of Population Projections 2015, produced in cooperation between Eurostat and national statistical offices for all EU Member States and Norway, Slovenia is expected to have a population of 1,940,000 in 2080.

Growth of the sentiment indicator continued in March 2017
In March 2017 the sentiment indicator was 1.9 percentage points higher at the monthly level and 9.0 p.p. higher at the annual level. The favourable trend, which began in mid-2016, continues. The sentiment indicator was last this high in April 2008, while it wasn’t higher since August 2007.

Dwelling prices in the 4th quarter of 2016 on average 1.8% higher than in the 3rd quarter of 2016
In the 4th quarter of 2016 dwelling prices were on average 1.8% higher than in the 3rd quarter of 2016. The number of transactions of existing dwellings was at a record high. In 2016 average annual dwelling prices were 3.3% higher than in 2015.

In January 2017 the prices of agricultural products were on average 0.4% higher than in January 2016. The prices of crop products were on average higher by 0.6% and of animals and animal products by 0.3%.

A quarter of Slovenian residents went on at least one private trip in the 4th quarter of 2016
In the 4th quarter of 2016, 24% of the resident population aged 15 or more went on at least one private trip, while 5% of the resident population went on at least one business trip. The average daily expenditure on business trips was three times greater than on private trips.
