The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is the most comprehensive official household survey in Slovenia. It is aimed to collect data on the situation and changes on the Slovenian labour market. It provides data on size, structure and characteristics of the Slovene labour force and inactive population.

Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In April 2017, 9% fewer building permits issued in Slovenia, the floor area 36% smaller than in March
In April 2017, 24% fewer permits were issued for residential buildings and the floor area of these buildings was 26% smaller than in March. For non-residential buildings 2% more permits were issued, but the floor area was 42% smaller than in March.

In the 1st quarter of 2017, services producer prices 0.9% higher at quarterly and annual level
In the 1st quarter of 2017, services producer prices were on average 0.9% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2016. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2016, prices of services were also higher, i.e. by 0.9% on average.

More than 4.3 million tourist arrivals and almost 11.2 million overnight stays in Slovenia in 2016
More than 4.3 million tourist arrivals and almost 11.2 million overnight stays were recorded in Slovenia in 2016. Foreign tourists generated 7.3 million overnight stays, which is 11% more than in 2015. Domestic tourists generated 3.8 million overnight stays, which is 3% more than in 2015.

In 2016, 7% less water used for irrigation than in the previous year
In 2016, 3,133 hectares of land in Slovenia were irrigated, which is 1.3% less than in 2015. For irrigation 3.4 million m3 of water was used, 7% less than in the previous year.

Every fifth resident of municipalities Gorenja vas – Poljane and Komenda under 15 on 1 January 2017
On 1 January 2017 the four largest municipalities population-wise had a combined population of more than 500,000. The two smallest municipalities (Hodoš, Osilnica) had fewer than 400 residents each. On average the oldest population lived in municipality Kostel (50.0 years).

In March 2017, 0.9% more persons in employment than in the previous month
The number of persons in employment in March 2017 increased by 0.9% over February 2017. Around 3,200 persons were employed or self-employed for the first time on the territory of Slovenia. The number of persons in employment increased the most in construction (by 5.6%).
