Field description
Numerous demographic events (births, deaths, marriages, divorces, migration) have a large impact on our everyday lives. Demography is one of the most traditional and also the most elementary fields of statistics. The first enumeration of population (the predecessor of the modern censuses) took place in Slovenia in 1754, but the first census was held in 1857.

Under the theme Population you will find the data and indicators on the number of population of Slovenia, their demographic events and some socio-economic characteristics. Data collected by population censuses are also presented under this theme.
