In the fourth quarter of 2017 5.3% annual increase in the labour costs per hour worked

In the fourth quarter of 2017 the labour costs per hour worked in Slovenia increased by 5.3% over the same period a year before.

A 5.3% annual increase in the labour costs per hour worked
According to provisional data, in the fourth quarter of 2017 the labour costs per hour worked in Slovenia increased on average by 5.3% over the fourth quarter of 2016; wages per hour worked in the same comparison increased by 4.4%.

The highest annual increase in the labour costs per hour worked
in activity electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
Compared to the same period of 2016, in the fourth quarter of 2017 labour costs per hour worked decreased the most in activity agriculture, forestry and fishing (by 13.6%) and in activity arts, entertainment and recreation (by 7.5%), and increased the most in activity electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 21.4%) and in administrative and support service activities (by 9.3%).

According to Eurostat data as of 6 March 2018, compared to the third quarter of 2016 in the third quarter of 2017 the labour costs per hour worked (agriculture, forestry and fishing is excluded) increased in almost all EU Member States, except in Finland and in Spain, where they decreased by 2.7% and by 0.1%, respectively, while for Malta for this period data are not available. Labour costs per hour worked increased the most in Romania (by 15.6%) and in Hungary (by 12.2%). In the same comparison the labour costs per hour worked in the EU-28 increased by 2.1% and in Slovenia by 6.3%.
