Livestock slaughter in slaughterhouses, Slovenia, 2017

In 2017 about 3,000 cattle more were slaughtered in Slovene slaughterhouses than in 2016

About 1,300 horses, 120,000 cattle, 245,000 pigs, 11,000 sheep, 700 goats, 11,000 rabbits and 38,000,000 poultry were slaughtered in Slovene slaughterhouses in 2017.

In 2017 the total slaughter in Slovenia was about 1,300 horses (about 8% or about 100 animals fewer at the annual level), about 245,000 pigs (about 5% or about 12.000 animals fewer at the annual level), about 11,000 sheep (about 16% or about 2,000 animals more at the annual level), about 700 goats (about 5% or about 30 animals fewer at the annual level), about 11,000 rabbits (about 19% or about 3,000 animals fewer at the annual level), about 38,000,000 poultry (exactly 7% or about 2.500,000 animals more at the annual level) and about 120,000 cattle (about 3% or about 3,000 animals more at the annual level).

Changes in total carcass weight follow the changes in the shares of the number of slaughtered animals in 2017.
