In the fourth quarter of 2017 prices of natural gas and electricity for household consumers in Slovenia decreased

Average natural gas price for household consumers in Slovenia decreased by 1% between the third and the fourth quarter of 2017. In the same period average electricity price for household consumers decreased by 6%.

Higher natural gas and electricity prices for non-household consumers

The average electricity price for household consumers in Slovenia in the fourth quarter of 2017 was 0.15 EUR/kWh, which is a 6% decrease over the third quarter. The average electricity price without value added tax for non-household consumers in Slovenia was 0.08 EUR/kWh, which is a 6% increase over the third quarter of 2017.

The average natural gas price for household consumers in Slovenia in the fourth quarter of 2017 was 0.05 EUR/kWh, which is a 1% decrease over the third quarter. The average natural gas price without value added tax for non-household consumers in the fourth quarter of 2017 was 0.03 EUR/kWh, which is a 9% increase over the first quarter.

Prices of electricity in Slovenia were below the EU average in the first half of 2017

The international comparison of electricity prices for first half of 2017 shows that in Slovenia price with all taxes for household consumers (2,500-5,000 kWh annual consumption) represented 79% of the EU-28 average and for non-household consumers without VAT (500-2000 MWh annual consumption) 69% of the EU-28 average.

In the same period natural gas price with all taxes for household consumers (5,556-55,556 kWh annual consumption) in Slovenia represented 95% of the EU-28 average and for non-household consumers without VAT (2,777,778-27,777,778 kWh annual consumption) exceeded the EU-28 average by 4%.
