In 2017 import prices were 1.6% higher than in a year ago. In December 2017 import prices were 0.1% lower than in the previous month.
As regards groups of activities showing the dynamics of prices by end-use, in December 2017 energy prices decreased by 1.8%, consumer goods prices haven’t changed, while intermediate goods prices increased by 0.1% and capital goods prices by 0.4%.
In December 2017 import prices decreased the most in the group electricity (by 10.5%), followed by the group crude petroleum and natural gas (by 2.4%). The largest increase was observed in the group other mining and quarrying products (by 1.7%).
The import prices in 2017 higher by 1.6%
At the annual level import prices have been rising since October 2016, and in December 2017 an increase by 1.6% was observed. In the same period the prices of products supplied from the euro area went up by 3.1%, while the prices of products imported from the non-euro area went down by 0.3%.
The prices of imports increased the most in the group basic metals (by 11.2%) and decreased the most in the group electricity (by 6.5%).
