Volume turnover in retail trade in June 2017 higher at the monthly and at the annual level
After three consecutive monthly declines in June 2017 volume turnover in retail trade increased on monthly basis by 1.7%. The increase was mainly due to a higher volume turnover in specialized stores with motor fuels (by 7.2%) and in trade with food (by 0.6%).
At the annual level, the volume turnover in June 2017, as in all the other months of this year, increased again, this time by 10.2%. Compared to June 2016, growth was most pronounced in specialized stores with motor fuels (by 23.4%), while the volume of sales in trade with food increased by 2.2% and in trade with non-food by 6.0%.
The first half of this year was marked by an 11.4% increase in volume turnover in retail trade. Compared to the same period of the previous year, volume turnover in specialized stores with motor fuels increased by 28.7%, in trade with food by 1.5% and in trade with non-food by 5.9%.
Turnover in trade and repair of motor vehicles lower at the monthly and higher at the annual level
In June 2017, the volume turnover in retail trade of motor vehicles and their repair decreased by 0.7% on a monthly level. At the annual level, volume turnover grew by 15.2%. The growth of volume turnover was also characteristic for the first half of 2017; compared to the same period in the previous year it increased by 15.6%.
