Output prices in March 2017 on average the same as in February 2017 and 1.9% higher at the annual level

Compared to February 2017, in March 2017 output prices remained on average the same, while compared to a year ago they were 1.9% higher.

The output prices in March 2017 on average at the level of February 2017

Compared to February 2017, in March 2017 output prices remained on average the same. The prices of manufactured goods sold on the domestic market after four months of positive growth rates now in March 2017 on a monthly level decreased by 0.1%. The prices of exported products remained on average the same as in February 2017. 

At the monthly level the prices of industrial products sold on the markets of the euro area countries went up by 0.2%, while the prices of industrial products sold on the markets of the non-euro area countries went down by 0.3%.

Among groups of activities showing the dynamics of prices by end-use of products, intermediate goods prices increased by 0.2%. On the other hand, energy prices decreased by 2.0% and consumer goods prices by 0.1%. Capital goods prices remained the same as in February 2017.

Compared to the previous month, output prices increased the most in manufacture of basic metals (by 0.6%) and in manufacture of wood, products of wood and cork (by 0.5%). On the other hand, a noticeable price decrease was recorded in electricity (by 2.3%) and in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 2.0%).

Output prices 1.9% higher than a year ago

At the annual level the output prices increased again – for the four consecutive month, this time by 1.9%. In the same period the output prices on the non-domestic market and the output prices on the domestic market increased (by 3.0% and 0.9%, respectively).

The prices of industrial products sold on the markets of the non-euro area countries increased by 4.0%, while the prices of industrial products sold on the markets of the euro area countries increased by 2.5%.

In one year prices went up the most in manufacture of textiles (by 26.9%). On the other hand, a noticeable price decrease was recorded in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 4.4%).
