Average monthly gross earnings for February 2017 0.7% lower than earnings for January 2017

Average monthly gross earnings for February 2017 amounted to EUR 1,581.37. Compared to earnings for January 2017 they were lower by 0.7% in nominal terms. The highest average monthly earnings for February 2017 were paid in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

Average monthly earnings for February 2017 lower than earnings for January 2017
Average monthly gross earnings for February 2017 amounted to EUR 1,581.37; compared to earnings for the previous month they were lower in nominal terms by 0.7% and in real terms by 1.7%. Average monthly net earnings for February 2017 amounted to EUR 1,034.20; compared to earnings for the previous month they were lower by 0.5% in nominal terms and by 1.5% in real terms.

Compared to January 2017, average monthly earnings for February 2017 in the private sector about the same, in the public sector lower
Average monthly net earnings for February 2017 in the private sector were about the same as earnings for January 2017, while in the public sector they were lower by 1.1%.

The highest average monthly earnings for February 2017 in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
Compared to January 2017, average monthly net earnings for February 2017 were lower in most activities. They decreased the most in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (by 3.7%) and increased the most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 2.2%). This is also the activity where the highest average monthly earnings for February 2017 were paid; they amounted to EUR 2,359.37 gross and EUR 1,484.09 net.

Average monthly earnings for February 2017 lower than earnings for the previous month in most statistical regions
Compared to January 2017, average monthly net earnings for February 2017 were lower in most statistical regions; the exceptions were Osrednjeslovenska and Gorenjska statistical regions (in the former net earnings increased by 1.5%, in the latter by 0.2%). The highest average monthly net earnings for February 2017 were paid in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region; they amounted to EUR 1,145.66 (i.e. 10.8% more than the national average).

Compared to February 2016, average monthly net earnings for February 2017 increased in all statistical regions.
