In February 2017 the confidence in construction, retail trade and in manufacturing higher

Compared to the previous month, in February 2017 the confidence in construction, retail trade and in manufacturing increased, while the confidence in services was the same as in January 2017.

Manufacturing confidence indicator higher than in the previous month
In February 2017 the manufacturing confidence indicator was 2 percentage points higher than in January 2017. Compared to February 2016 it increased by 6 percentage points and was 12 percentage points above the long-term average.
Among the situation indicators the production indicator and the overall order books indicator increased compared to the previous month, while the export order books indicator and the stocks of finished products indicator decreased. The assured production indicator remained the same as in the previous month. The expectation indicators mostly increased compared to the previous month, except the expected production indicator and the expected export order books indicator, which remained the same as in the previous month.

Retail trade confidence indicator hihger than in the previous month
In February 2017 the retail trade confidence indicator was 5 percentage points higher than in January 2017. Compared to February 2016 it decreased by 5 percentage points and was 7 percentage points above the long-term average. The confidence indicator was higher primarily due to the increase in the expected sales indicator.
The situation indicators decreased compared to the previous month, except the selling prices indicator. The expectation indicators mostly increased compared to the previous month, except the expected employment indicator and the expected selling prices indicator, which decreased.

Construction confidence indicator higer than in the previous month
In February 2017 the construction confidence indicator was 8 percentage points higer than in January 2017. Compared to February 2016 it increased by 24 percentage points and was 26 percentage points above the long-term average. The confidence indicator has thus reached the highest value since July 2008. It was higher primarily due to the increase in the employment expectations indicator.
The situation indicators and the expectation indicators mostly increased compared to the previous month, except the assessment of building activity indicator, the business situation indicator, the technical capacity indicator and the price expectations indicator which all decreased.

Services confidence indicator the same as in the previous month
In February 2017 the services confidence indicator was the same as in January 2017. Compared to February 2016 it increased by 6 percentage points and was 13 percentage points above the long-term average.
The situation and the expectation indicators mostly increased compared to the previous month, except the expected demand indicator and the employment indicator.
