Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

Consumer confidence the highest ever
In October 2017 the consumer confidence indicator reached its highest value in the entire observation period. Its value increased by 3 percentage points (p.p.) compared to last month and by 11 p.p. compared to October 2016. Consumer confidence is also 22 p.p. above its long-term average.

In September 2017, 9% more building permits issued in Slovenia; the floor area 5% smaller than in August
In September 2017, one building permit less was issued for residential buildings and 17% more for non-residential buildings than in August. The floor area of residential buildings was 8% larger and for non-residential buildings 14% smaller than in August.

The total value of agricultural products purchased in August 2017 amounted to EUR 42.3 million and was almost 8% lower than in July 2017 and more than 15% higher than in August 2016.

In 2016, household disposable income up in all statistical regions in Slovenia – by 4.5% on average
In 2016, household disposable income increased for the third consecutive year. Compared to 2015 it was higher in all statistical regions: disposable income per capita was the highest in the Koroška region (EUR 11,749), followed by the Osrednjeslovenska region (EUR 11,219).

Almost 99% of water for the public water supply is abstracted from groundwater sources.
In 2016, 1.6% less water than in 2015 was abstracted for the public water supply, almost all of it (99.1%) from groundwater sources. Households consumed about the same amount of water from the public water supply as in 2015 year, while production and service activities consumed 0.8% more.
